Loudness enhancement is best achieved by combining two dynamic range control elements:

Compression achieved by bringing up small and medium signal levels and Linear amplification of the entire bandwidth along with inaudible peak limiting.

The Jünger Bottom Up Compression System™ ups the gain when the signal level is low. As the incoming signal level increases, the compressor gain decreases. Thanks to this Adaptive Dynamic Range Control (ADRC), there is no audible pumping or other unpleasant artifacts. The result: Listeners hear all there is to hear, without perceiving the compression.

The Jünger Peak Limiter takes the output of the Bottom Up Compressor and raises the overall signal level, linearly, so that individual transient peaks are raised above the limiter threshold. Then the Transient Peak Limiter processes the peaks inaudibly.

The result: Listeners hear a louder signal with no perception of peak limiting.

Overall, the signal sounds louder without artifacts previously associated with such systems. And since the processor is not multi-band, the spectral balance is not touched.
